Welcome

MazzaBUG welcomes people from the City of Maribyrnong, surrounding suburbs and those who ride to, from or through our slice of Melbourne, Australia.

We are a non-profit, volunteer-run organisation made up of people who enjoy riding, whether to work, for recreation or sport.

What we do

Campaigns and Advocacy

We work with local government and Bicycle Victoria to improve local bike paths, on road lanes and bicycle infrastructure.

How you can help!

  • Read about our advocacy efforts.
  • Email us about advocacy concerns in your area.
  • Call VicRoads on 131 170 with any valid cycling road hazards (must be on VicRoads maintained road, arterial road). The hazards is recorded and allocated to a VicRoads employee to respond. It will be looked at seriously and not waved off.
  • Send a letter of thanks to local council for improving cycling conditions!

Rides and Social Events

We conduct monthly rides in interesting places to help you get to know like-minded people in your area and explore paths around Melbourne. The rides are researched and run by experienced riders so you can feel confident knowing we’ve done the ride and you’ll be safe riding with us in a group. We cater for all ages and abilities.

How you can help!

  • Check out our upcoming rides.
  • Send us an idea for a ride you would like to do.
  • Come along to a ride! All are welcome and rides are free for members or $5 for non-members.

Education and Training

In conjunction with BAC Bikes in South Melbourne, we hold workshops on bike maintenance, safety and cycling etiquette to make your riding as safe and enjoyable as possible.
